Sitting in the cockpit of this Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum was my personal highlight of the day. The Russian soldiers were extremely friendly, showing me every detail of the cockpit. One of the guys took this picture of me, with my camera. What an awesome day.

And Maverick is a wimp! 😉

Open day at a Russian fighter base. No barriers, no minimum distances. Sitting in fighter cockpits, taking copter flights, watching Flankers and Fulcrums in action… a day in paradise. And it was probably when I sat in a MiG-29 cockpit, that I caught the aviation virus.

Welcome to the re-launch of www.gebenus.com

I had to take the old site down, after it was repeatedly hacked, in an attempt to embed malicious code. I hope the re-launch helped closing the loopholes that allowed the hackers to sneak in.

As I re-built the site from the scratch, unfortunately, all the old posts, pictures and comments are gone. I will now work on populating the photo galleries again, so that there will be more to see than just the few images on the home page. Also, new pictures will be added soon, that had not been published before.

Some of them even show other motives than aircraft…

Thanks a lot for your ongoing interest in my humble site. Unless you are the hacker who kept crashing it, that is.
